An Army officer named Eddie Horniman leaves for home in England as his father, the Duke of Halstead, lies dying. Following the death of the Duke, Eddie unexpectedly succeeds to the Dukedom and family estate in accordance with his father's wishes, eschewing his reckless older brother Freddy. Soon after taking on his new position, Eddie finds out that Tommy Dixon, a vicious drug dealer from Scouse, is the one who Freddy owes £8 million. Eddie chooses to raise the money and preserve Freddy's by selling the estate to investor Stanley Johnston. He comes to an end, though, when he meets Susie Glass, who informs him that a sizable cannabis farm lies beneath the estate and was founded thanks to a business deal between their fathers. Susie consents to renegotiate terms with Tommy, and together they manage to cut the debt in half in exchange for quick cash payment and Freddy's involvement in an embarrassing video. Eddie raises the necessary £4 million by selling Johnston the estate wine collection and, with Susie's assistance, winning back a significant wager that Freddy made with Sticky Pete, a dishonest bookmaker. Tommy shows up at the estate to take video footage and collect the money. But when Tommy continues to agitate an emotional and cocaine-fueled Freddy, Freddy returns with a shotgun and kills Tommy.
Tommy's associate Jethro makes an attempt to run away but is apprehended shortly after Tommy is killed. Susie employs Felix, a subterranean crime scene "cleaner," to kill Jethro and get rid of Tommy. Eddie, on the other hand, feels sorry for him and devises a different scheme to accuse Jethro of Tommy's murder and assist him in leaving the nation. The head of the Scouse cocaine syndicate and Tommy's evangelical brother, John "the Gospel" Dixon, shows up at the estate the following day with his goons in search of the missing man. Eddie persuades them that Tommy and Jethro got into a fight, and that Jethro might be to blame for Tommy going missing. Later, Eddie fights with one of Dixon's goons who was inside waiting for Jethro while he is removing Jethro's passport from his flat.Eddie shoots himself while killing him in the end. Eddie, who is still recovering from his wound, is made to go to Johnston's gala, where Susie reveals he is a crystal meth kingpin. Johnston offers her a partnership, but she knows he wants to grow his drug operations. Then, because of his wealth and power, Eddie requests a meeting with Bobby Glass, Susie's father, who is incarcerated in an opulent, open-air prison. Eddie offers Bobby something in exchange for him ending the cannabis business and earning even more money for Bobby. He accepts to think about the proposal. At last, Eddie assists Jethro in leaving the country; however, he is unaware that Susie has Felix kill Jethro in order to close the case.
Jimmy, the head cultivator at the cannabis farm, is duped by an enigmatic figure named Gabrielle, resulting in him losing a shipment. Susie consents to do a favour for the irritated client, "Tony Blair," who is the head of a Kosovan-Albanian gang, while the shipment is delayed. Eddie is given the responsibility of stealing a Lamborghini Huracan. It belongs to Mercy, the owner of a chop shop, whom Eddie soon comes to believe is hiding a more violent side. Eddie finds and saves a Blair gang member who has been captured when he breaks into the garage at night in order to steal the car. The member discloses that Mercy is a drug dealer with support from Colombia, and that the Lamborghini has a covert cocaine shipment inside of it. Blair got the cocaine by tricking Eddie and Susie into believing he had stolen a car. Mercy's gang kidnaps Freddy and demands a ransom in exchange for the drugs. Eddie sets up a trade, offering Freddy a captured Blair in exchange. After mercilessly murdering Blair, Mercy releases Freddy. Susie is impressed by Eddie's composure in the face of criticism, but Lady Sabrina, Eddie's mother, is concerned about the effects of Eddie's increasing criminality on the family. Susie and her team are unable to locate the pilfered shipment. But Gabrielle gets in touch with Jimmy once more to carry on the scam.
Eddie approaches Max, the recently appointed Lord Bassington, under Susie's pressure, offering to build a cannabis farm beneath his estate to replace the one at Halstead Manor. Max is accommodating, but he needs Eddie's assistance in addressing a blackmailer. Eddie accepts and runs into the blackmailer, Frank, an ex-journalist who leaves quickly. Following Susie's intervention, they locate Frank and bring him to a meeting with Max. Frank discloses that Max is an ardent supporter of Adolf Hitler and a covert Nazi, even possessing the infamous missing testicle of the dictator. The meeting quickly turns into a gunfight in which Max and Frank sustain injuries. Max is defeated, so Susie uses her enforcers to threaten him into signing a land deal. Separately, Lady Sabrina arranges for groundskeeper Geoff to present her to a different cannabis farm host, a nearby sheep farmer. Susie consents to think about it. Jimmy shows her the farm and important information about the distribution network while she is elsewhere, enamoured with Gabrielle and oblivious to her involvement in stealing the previous shipment.
Bobby assures Susie that he will not allow Eddie to leave even after acquiring two more marijuana farms for the Glass conglomerate. The manager of Glass distributions through Belgium, Florian de Groot, tries to negotiate a larger financial cut, so Susie enlists Eddie's assistance. The Ward family, a renowned group of Travellers, steals two generators from the farm at the same time. Upon visiting JP Ward, Eddie and Susie discover that he is aware of the marijuana operation and is eager to join. Eddie proposes cutting out de Groot and utilising the Wards as distributors. Susie accepts, and the new plan works out well. But when the farm is robbed of £4 million, suspicion is directed towards the Wards. Eddie concludes that de Groot planned the heist in order to put the Wards in the wrong and get back into power. Eddie and Susie approach de Groot, pressuring him to admit that Keith, Susie's bodyguard, assisted him. Eddie gives Keith over to the Wards for execution, but before he passes away, Keith confesses to Jethro's murder, which causes Eddie to lose faith in Susie. In another scene, Lady Sabrina and Geoff discuss their previous relationship and the reality that Geoff is Eddie and Freddy's biological father, Charlotte.Susie tells Eddie that even though he has more money than he needs to leave, it will take an additional three months for the money to be properly laundered and recognised as profit.
Susie's money launderer Chucky Kubra finds her brother Jack having sex with his girlfriend, which complicates matters even more. Eddie meets Jack's promoter, Henry Collins, an ex-army officer, at a boxing party. Henry offers to assist Eddie with money laundering. When Susie mends their relationship, Eddie initially goes back to Chucky, but he is furious to hear that she instructed Chucky to purposefully postpone the laundering process.Eddie tries to give the money to Henry instead, which leads to a fight during which Susie says the Glasses won't allow the Hornimans to leave the empire. Eddie meets with Johnston to seek his assistance in finding a way out. In the meantime, Freddy makes an attempt to convince Susie that he would permit Eddie's murderer to inherit the estate and carry on with the business by referring to it as "cocaine-weed." Susie declines his offer, stating that family comes first. Henry tells Susie he wants to take over the Glass drug empire, either peacefully or by war, during a bout between Jack and an Uzbek boxer. Susie declines and responds by threatening Henry. Jack is hospitalised after being knocked out in the ring per Henry's orders.
Jack is unconscious in the hospital, and Susie accuses Eddie. She is in charge of the killings of the Uzbek boxer and Collins' lieutenant, but Bobby stops her, telling her he will take care of Collins personally. Eddie finds out that Johnston requests the identities of the 12 additional landowners that own Glass farms. They are acquired by Eddie and Freddy from a former Glass associate named Lord "Tibsy" Whitecroft. Eddie was enraged when Freddy admitted that he had asked Susie to have Eddie killed. Jimmy acknowledges that he informed Gabrielle of Susie's whereabouts, which in turn caused Susie to threaten Gabrielle. She discloses that she works for Johnston and that he is the mastermind behind the attacks on Collins, the betrayal of Keith, the theft of the marijuana shipments, and the shipping delays caused by de Groot in an effort to undermine the Glass empire. After giving Stevens, Johnston's chief of staff, the names, Eddie goes to see Bobby and makes a suggestion about a different course of action. Collins is ambushed by Susie and suffers serious injuries; however, he divulges Eddie's covert meetings with Johnston. She calls John Dixon in retaliation and tells him the real reason Tommy was killed. Eventually, Charlotte surprises the family and Geoff by returning from university pregnant. Geoff informs her about the drug empire out of concern for her safety while at the estate.
Jack awakens from his coma, and Susie learns from Bobby that Eddie isn't a traitor because he gave Johnston false identities. Susie sends more troops to assist the Hornimans in defending the estate, but Bobby strikes a deal with Dixon to stop a shootout. While Charlotte and Geoff have a heart-to-heart, during which he confesses to being her father, Freddy and Eddie make up. Bobby tells Susie and Eddie that he is going to retire and gives them the responsibility of managing offers from Johnston, Mercy's Colombians, and Sticky Pete's Russians for his empire. When Freddy describes Eddie as "perfectly suited for the empire," Eddie is also motivated to submit a bid. Eddie gathers Collins, Tibsy, and the other twelve lords into a coalition.Susie is reluctant to join in Collins' presence, but Lady Sabrina and Eddie's encouragement persuade her. Following the submission of all bids, Eddie sets up Johnston's arrest for tax evasion and the killings of Sticky Pete and Mercy in order to undermine his competitors. Moreover, despite never really intending to collaborate with Collins, he betrays him and puts Collins to death. Impressed, Bobby confesses that his retirement was a charade to see if Eddie and Susie would make good heirs to the empire in the future. Johnston, another "gentleman," joins Bobby in the opulent outdoor prison now that the new situation has been established.

Reception
Based on 63 critic reviews, the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported a 71% approval rating. The series received three stars out of five from Anita Singh of The Telegraph, who called it "everything you want from a Guy Ritchie caper."[17] Fans of Ritchie's films should watch it, according to Lucy Mangan of The Guardian, who gave it a three-out-of-five rating and described it as "a lot of daft stories crammed together and spattered with blood for your entertainment".
